State awards of the President of Russia
17.04.2025Russian President V.V. Putin has awarded a number of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church with state awards.
For his great contribution to the restoration of spiritual and cultural heritage sites of great national and historical significance, Metropolitan Juvenaly (Poyarkov) was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky, and the abbess of the Novodevichy Stavropegic Convent in Moscow, Abbess Margarita (Feoktistova), was awarded the Order of Friendship.
For his services in ensuring the activities of the Council for Interaction with Religious Associations under the President of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Educational Committee, Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, was awarded the medal of the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" I degree, Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Gregory of Voskresensk, and Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, were awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.
For courage, bravery, and selflessness shown in the performance of his civic duty, Hieromonk Guriy (Gusev), a resident of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, was awarded the Order of Courage.
