Opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of joining UNESCO

On April 27, the grand opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of our country's accession to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) took place in the atrium of one of the buildings of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony was attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation Daria Shmanai, TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov, representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO, political, cultural and public figures, Abbess of the Novodevichy Monastery Margarita (Feoktistova).

The exhibition features two dozen historical and modern photographs reflecting various stages of Russia's long-term cooperation with UNESCO.The guests were also presented with photographic evidence of international expeditions in the Arctic and at the Hangar, footage from international UNESCO symposiums and festivals in Russia.

On this day, the stamp blocks designed for the 70th anniversary of our country's accession to UNESCO were also extinguished.
